Regular Season Round 26: Psychiko - Ermis Agias 73-75

A very interesting game took place in Athens. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 9th ranked Psychiko (12-14) to tenth ranked Ermis Agias (12-14) 75-73 in the game for the ninth place. It looked good early as Psychiko took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Ermis Agias had a 20-13 second period charge getting the lead and Psychiko was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-75. Ermis Agias forced 19 Psychiko turnovers. The former international forward Nestoras Kommatos (203-77) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Savas Chrysopoulos (200-89) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Thomas Nikou (185-80) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 16 assists and forward Petros Noeas (204-87) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Psychiko. Four Psychiko players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Ermis Agias moved-up to ninth place, which they share with defeated Psychiko. Ermis Agias' next round opponent will be higher ranked Ethnikos (#8) in Pireus and it may be quite challenging game.
