Regular Season Round 28: Chalon - Strasbourg 95-72
Date: April 11, 2018
Very important is a road loss of second ranked SIG Strasbourg (19-9) against thirteenth ranked Chalon/Saor (13-15) on Wednesday night. Visiting SIG Strasbourg was crushed by Chalon/Saor in Chalon 95-72. The game without a history. Chalon/Saor led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American point guard Nate Wolters (193-91, college: S.Dakota St., agency: Pensack Sports) who scored that evening 29 points and 9 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and naturalized Cameroonian Jeremy Nzeulie (188-91) supported him with 17 points. Even 13 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists by American-Bosnian guard Zack Wright (188-85, college: Central Mo.) did not help to save the game for SIG Strasbourg. Croatian center Miro Bilan (213-89, agency: BeoBasket) added 8 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Four SIG Strasbourg players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chalon/Saor have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Le Portel. Loser SIG Strasbourg keeps the second position with nine games lost. Chalon/Saor will meet bottom-ranked Hyeres-Toulon (#18) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. SIG Strasbourg will play against the league's leader Monaco (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
