An interesting game took place in Tenerife, where higher ranked CB Canarias (14-13) lost at home to thirteenth ranked Gipuzkoa (11-16) 88-92 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 29-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Canadian point guard Kenny Chery (180-92, college: Baylor) who scored 17 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Point guard Daniel Perez (188-90) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) who recorded 22 points and American Tim Abromaitis (203-89, college: Notre Dame) added 17 points respectively. Five Gipuzkoa and four CB Canarias players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Gipuzkoa moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Obradoiro. Loser CB Canarias dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. Gipuzkoa will face Blusens Monbus (#13) in Santiago de Comp in the next round.
