Regular Season Round 33: Amsterdam - Zwolle 65-105

The game in Amsterdam supposed to be quite interesting. Third ranked Zwolle (22-8) played at the court of 7th ranked Amsterdam (8-21). Zwolle smashed Amsterdam 105-65 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Zwolle. Amsterdam managed to win third quarter 26-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zwolle dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Amsterdam's 34. Zwolle had a 32-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Zwolle especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. American forward Noah Dahlman (201-89, college: Wofford) stepped up and scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import forward Franko House (198-94, college: Ball St.) chipped in 17 points and 12 rebounds. Five Zwolle players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Akeel Eduardo (193-93) with 12 points and 5 rebounds and center Berend Weijs (207-88, college: Maryland) scored 7 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zwolle maintains third place with 22-8 record behind leader Groningen. Amsterdam lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with 21 games lost. They share it with Leeuwarden. Zwolle are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Weert (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Amsterdam will play against Leeuwarden and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
