Regular Season Round 6: Mandurah M. - Cockburn C. 73-69

Rather predictable result when first ranked Magic (5-1) won against 5th ranked Cougars (2-2) in Mandurah 73-69 on Friday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Magic outrebounded Cougars 49-37 including 21 on the offensive glass. Cougars were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Anita Brown (173, college: Akron) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Briana Klasztorny (-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Magic players scored in double figures. American forward Kisha Lee (182-85, college: UNLV) replied with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and Vanessa Michael added 6 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Cougars. Cougars' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Magic went down to second position (League) due to points difference. Loser Cougars dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. Magic will have a break next round. Cougars will play on the road against Wanneroo (#8) in Joondalup and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
