Regular Season Round 11: Orange Walk RR - Belmopan B. 79-76

The most exciting game of round 11 in the NEBL took place in Belize City. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Red Bandits (2-8) to seventh ranked Running Rebels (1-9) 79-76 on Friday evening. Running Rebels outrebounded Red Bandits 32-20 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American center James Ewing (198-90, college: Mercyhurst) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Roger Reneau helped adding 13 points. American forward Luther Page (198, college: Alabama St.) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Gregory Rudon (181) scored 17 points. Four Red Bandits players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Running Rebels maintains seventh place with 1-9 record. It was Red Bandits' sixth loss in a row. Defending champion keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Running Rebels are looking forward to face higher ranked Verdes (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Red Bandits will play against Hurricanes in Belize City and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
