Regular Season Round 28: Poitiers - Fos-Provence 66-65

A very close game took place in Poitiers between Poitiers and Provence Basket. Sixteenth ranked Poitiers (9-19) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Provence Basket (18-10). Poitiers managed to escape with a 1-point win 66-65 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Provence Basket won third quarter 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Morris Curry (181-87, college: Providence) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Ron Anderson (205-89, college: S.Florida, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 13 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side power forward Pierre Pelos (205-92) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Senegalese power forward Mamadou Dia (201-78) scored 13 points. Poitiers moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Le Havre. Loser Provence Basket keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. They share it with Saint-Chamond and Lille. Poitiers will meet league's second-placed Entente Orleans 45 on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Provence Basket will play against Quimper UJAP and hope to secure a win.
