Regular Season Round 30: Cornella - Mollet 79-72

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked Mollet (14-10) lost on the road to seventh ranked Cornella (13-11) 79-72 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mollet won third quarter 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Cornella won last quarter 24-18. It was a good game for center Alexandre Sanmartin (202-84) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Guard Bartu Martinez (187-91) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Forward Jose-Maria Sanchez (198-99) replied with 15 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Nil Angelats (185-93) added 16 points in the effort for Mollet. Four Mollet players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Cornella maintains seventh position in Group C-B with 13-11 record. Loser Mollet keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. Cornella will face Castellbisbal (#11) on the road in the next round.
