Regular Season Round 6: Stirling S. - Mandurah M. 109-95

Everything went according to plan in Perth where third ranked Stirling S. (5-1) won against 12th ranked Magic (1-5) 109-95 on Saturday. Stirling S. forced 21 Magic turnovers. Magic was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Justin King (196-89, college: TRU) who scored 31 points and 5 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Nigerian-American forward Robert Anshila (199-86, college: Ft.Hays State) chipped in 29 points and 6 rebounds. Anshila is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Shaun Stewart (180-94, college: Limestone) who recorded 26 points and power forward Chudier Pal (205-91, college: NC-Asheville) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Stirling S. maintains third position in League with 5-1 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Joondalup Wolves. Loser Magic keeps the twelfth place with five games lost. Stirling S. will face Hawks (#9) in Floreat in the next round where they are favorite.
