Regular Season Round 6: Launceston T. - Hobart C. 84-85

We should not miss anothera road victory of fifth ranked Hobart Chargers (1-1) over bottom-ranked Tornadoes (0-2) 85-84. Tornadoes were very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. Tornadoes cut a 14-point halftime deficit to one at the end of the game. Hobart Chargers had a 34-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American swingman Kathleen Scheer (187-89, college: Duke) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists. Sharna Thompson chipped in 33 points (!!!). At the other side the best for losing team was guard Lauren Nicholson (183-93, college: St.Mary's, CA) who recorded a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 5 assists and Ellie Collins added 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Hobart Chargers left bottom position moving up to fourth place in League. Tornadoes at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. Hobart Chargers' next round opponent will be Sabres (#6) in Cheltenham. Tornadoes will play on the road against Ballarat Rush in Wendouree and hope to get finally their first victory.
