Regular Season Round 30: Azuqueca - Casvi 83-68

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Azuqueca (22-4) defeated at home 12th ranked Casvi (9-18) 83-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Azuqueca. Casvi was better in third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Casvi's players. It was a good game for Serbian power forward Branislav Tomic (205-80) who led his team to a victory with 20 points. Point guard Alvaro Frutos (188-87, agency: Duran International) contributed with 12 points and 8 assists for the winners. British center Gatluak Thiep (213-92, college: Fayetteville St., agency: Duran International) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks and American-Nigerian guard Deji Ibitayo (193-93, college: Akron, agency: Duran International) added 21 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Casvi. Five Azuqueca and four Casvi players scored in double figures. Azuqueca maintains first position in Group B with 22-4 record. Loser Casvi dropped to the thirteenth place with 18 games lost. Azuqueca will face league's second-placed Almansa on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Casvi will play against Quintanar (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
