Regular Season Round 30: AEC Collblanc - Girona Basquet 87-84

Important game to mention about took place in L´Hospitalet. Fourth ranked AEC Collblanc (15-7) saved a 3-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers Girona Basquet (16-8) 87-84 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Girona Basquet. AEC Collblanc dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Girona Basquet's 32. Antoni Figuerola (-94) scored 18 points to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Bernat Alvarez (176-95) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was David Cuellar (192-97) with 17 points and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Alfonso Alzamora (206-79) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Four Girona Basquet players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. AEC Collblanc have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position in Group C-A with 15-7 record. Newly promoted Girona Basquet keeps the third place with eight games lost. AEC Collblanc will play against Arenys (#5) in Arenys del Mar in the next round. Girona Basquet will play at home against Tarragona and hopes to get back on the winning track.
