Regular Season Round 33: Toyota Alvark - Nagoya DD 92-93

Important game to mention about took place in Tokyo. Second ranked Diamond Dolphins (26-27) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging second-best Toyota Alvark (39-15) 93-92 in the game for the second place. Guard Takaya Sasayama (178-93) stepped up and scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and the former international forward Daiki Tanaka (191-91) scored 10 points and 9 assists. Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Diamond Dolphins maintains second place with 26-27 record having eighteen points less than leader Ryukyu GK, which they share with Hokkaido L. Loser Toyota Alvark keeps the second position with 15 games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face Toyama Grouses (#4) at home in the next round. Toyota Alvark will play against San-en NeoPhoenix and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
