There was no surprise when 14th ranked Alba (8-21) was outleveled at home by twelfth ranked Oleggio (12-17) 88-65 on Saturday. Oleggio dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Alba's 40. They outrebounded Alba 42-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. Center Stefano Colombo (200-95, agency: SPORTlab Agency) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Dominican guard Shaquille Hidalgo (188-94) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Oleggio players scored in double figures. Power forward Giacomo DellAgnello (201-94) answered with 8 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian swingman Santiago Boffelli (195-83) added 15 points in the effort for Alba. Alba's coach Luca Jacomuzzi gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Oleggio maintains twelfth place in B with 12-17 record. Newly promoted Alba keeps the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. Oleggio will face higher ranked Omnia Basket (#9) in Pavia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alba will play on the road against Varese Robur (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
