Regular Season Round 29: Piacenza - Rimini 93-69

Date: April 14, 2018
There was no surprise when 11th ranked Rimini (11-18) was outleveled on the road by third ranked Piacenza (20-9) 93-69 on Saturday. Piacenza dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Rimini's 36. Piacenza forced 21 Rimini turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Forward Riccardo Pederzini (200-89, agency: Players Group) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international power forward Riccardo Perego (202-81) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Piacenza players scored in double figures. The former international center Francesco Foiera (207-75, agency: Interperformances) answered with 24 points and 9 rebounds and Matteo Caroli (-95, agency: Players Group) added 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Rimini. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Piacenza moved-up to second place in B, which they share with Crema. Loser Rimini dropped to the tenth position with 18 games lost. Piacenza will face Lugo (#14) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Rimini will play against Tessilform Bernareggio (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
