Regular Season Round 6: Perth R. - East Perth E. 87-94

Date: April 14, 2018
There was a surprise result in Northbridge where ninth ranked Eagles (4-3) beat second-best Redbacks (4-2) 94-87 on Saturday. Eagles looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Redbacks were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jonathan Morse (203-91, college: Metro St.) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import forward Corey Easley (208-83, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) chipped in 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Morse is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Eagles' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Shawn Redhage (203-81, college: Arizona St.) who recorded 28 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Maurice Barrow (196-92, college: Fairfield) added 21 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Five Eagles and four Redbacks players scored in double figures. Eagles moved-up to sixth place in League. Loser Redbacks dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Eagles will face higher ranked Flames (#5) in Rockingham in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Redbacks will play at home against Giants and hope to win that game.
