Regular Season Round 13: Quetzales - Acereras 67-37

Bottom-ranked Quetzales managed to get a third victory. This time they outleveled seventh-ranked Acereras in Ciudad de Mexico 67-37. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 30-point difference proves that Quetzales was well-prepared to that game. They also forced 26 Acereras turnovers. Sarai Morales nailed 8 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and Izchel Valdez accounted for 8 points and 8 rebounds. Guatemalan center Linda Gonzalez (178-92) came up with 9 points and Beatriz Contreras added 5 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Acereras in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Quetzales (3-10) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Mexcaltecas. Newly promoted Acereras dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. Quetzales' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Ciudad de Mexico Lobas.
