The game in Marneuli was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Olimpi (13-14) played at the court of eighth ranked DELTA (10-18). DELTA managed to secure a 8-point victory 86-78 on Saturday. DELTA shot 25 for 37 from the free-throw line, while Olimpi only scored nine points from the stripe. The winners were led by American point guard Nickolas Neal (183-89, college: Purdue-NCent.) who scored that evening 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Ukrainian power forward Artem Shvets (201-85) supported him with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Neal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds by American forward Maurius Hill (196-94, college: UALR) did not help to save the game for Olimpi. Point guard Givi Bakradze (180-91) added 19 points and 6 assists for the guests. Five DELTA and four Olimpi players scored in double figures. Newly promoted DELTA maintains eighth position with 10-18 record. Olimpi lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 14 games lost. DELTA will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Olimpi will play against Batumi (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
