Regular Season Round 6: Nunawading S. - Diamond V.E. 91-71

The game between closely ranked teams ended with top-ranked Spectres' (2-0) home victory over 4th ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (1-2) 91-71 on Saturday. The game without a history. Spectres led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Andrew Steel (200-91, college: Cal Poly Pomona) who scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Thomas Wright chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. Four Spectres players scored in double figures. Spectres' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Mike Best (208-93, college: Cal-Irvine) who recorded 25 points and 9 rebounds and guard Joel Spear (192-94, college: S.Oregon) added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Spectres keep a position of League leader. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. Spectres will face BA CoE (#4) in Canberra in the next round. Diamond Valley Eagles will play at home against Dandenong Rangers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
