There was no surprise when 10th ranked Myrtia (12-17) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Albacete (18-11) 72-56. The hosts were ahead by 4 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 27-9 run, which allowed them to win the game. Albacete outrebounded Myrtia 41-25 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Myrtia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American center Babatunde Olumuyiwa (203-92, college: USC Upstate) nailed 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Garret Covington (196-94, college: W.Illinois, agency: Two Points) accounted for 17 points. French guard Kevin Franceschi (190-93, college: Oklah.Baptist) came up with 19 points and guard Juan Ballesta (181-92) added 5 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Myrtia in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Albacete moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Avila. Myrtia lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Albacete's next round opponent will be higher ranked HLA Alicante (#3) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Myrtia will play against Real Canoe (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
