Not a big story in a game in Morphett Vale where 6th ranked Woodville Warriors (1-3) were outplayed by top-ranked Noarlunga City Southern Tigers (4-0) 112-91 on Saturday. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Woodville Warriors' 40. They outrebounded Woodville Warriors 48-32 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Samuel Johns (193-95) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. American forward Greg Mays (203-93, college: Green Bay) chipped in a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Everett Osborne (193, college: UTRGV) who recorded 27 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import forward Jonathan Perry (193-91, college: Dallas Baptist) added 23 points respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers maintains first position in League with 4-0 record. Loser Woodville Warriors keep the sixth place with three games lost. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers will face Central District Lions (#9) in Gawler in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Woodville Warriors will play at home against Forestville Eagles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
