There was no surprise when 18th ranked Charleville-Mezieres (6-22) was crushed on the road by seventh ranked Sluc Nancy (17-11) 90-58. The game without a history. Sluc Nancy led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Charleville-Mezieres' 28. They outrebounded Charleville-Mezieres 38-22 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sluc Nancy shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The winners were led by power forward Mickael Var (205-90) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Cameroonian forward Narace Williams (201-97) supported him with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Five Sluc Nancy players scored in double figures. Sluc Nancy's coach Gregor Beugnot felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 18 points and 4 assists by American forward Dom Morris (201-90, college: Boston U.) did not help to save the game for Charleville-Mezieres.
