No shocking result in a game when first ranked Chiba Jets (40-13) outleveled at home 5th ranked Nishinomiya S. (9-44) 106-76 on Saturday. Chiba Jets looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Nishinomiya S.'s players. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) stepped up and scored 23 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) chipped in 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Herbert Hill (208-84, college: Providence) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Noriaki Douhara (178-89) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chiba Jets maintains first place with 40-13 record. Nishinomiya S. lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with 44 games lost. Chiba Jets will face Hitachi Sunrockers (#6) in Tokyo in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Nishinomiya S. will play at home against Shiga L-Stars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
