Regular Season Round 27: Faenza - Orvieto 58-60

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Orvieto (12-13) edged on the road 7th ranked Faenza (13-12) 60-58 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was point guard Rachele Porcu (165-97, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Slovenian guard Eva Rupnik (176-92, agency: ProDep Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Orvieto's coach Massimo Romano allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Lucia Morsiani (186-92) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and the former international forward Simona Ballardini (181-81) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Orvieto maintains ninth place in A2 with 12-13 record. Newly promoted Faenza keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Orvieto will face Forli (#13) at home in the next round.
