No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Villarrobledo (21-6) beat on the road 12th ranked Quintanar (9-18) 75-68 on Sunday. The game without a history. Villarrobledo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a good game for point guard Arturo Fernandez (182-90) who led his team to a victory with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Reco McCarter (198-90, college: Campbell) contributed with 18 points and 4 steals for the winners. Villarrobledo's coach Manuel Jimenez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Khion Sankey (196, college: Lipscomb) replied with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Dominican forward Gregorio Adon (198-91) added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Quintanar. Four Villarrobledo and five Quintanar players scored in double figures. Villarrobledo have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with Real Madrid II. Quintanar lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 18 games lost. Villarrobledo will face Estudio (#11) in Madrid in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Quintanar will play on the road against Casvi in Villaviciosa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
