Regular Season Round 25: Hogsbo - Koping Stars 80-83

Sixth-ranked Hogsbo (10-16) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Koping Stars (25-1) in Goteborg on Sunday. The visitors from Koping managed to secure only three-point victory 83-80. However their fans expected much easier game. Hogsbo trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 22-11 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 80-83 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Austin Price (193, college: Lehigh) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international swingman Sean Smith (198-87, college: NC-Asheville) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Jacob Johansson (195-95) answered with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and forward Filip Sjostrom (200-90) added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Hogsbo. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Hogsbo's coach Yannick Trott tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Koping Stars have an impressive series of sixteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 25-1 record. Hogsbo at the other side keeps the sixth position with 16 games lost. Koping Stars are looking forward to face Alvik Basket (#5) in Stockholm in the next round. Hogsbo will have a break next round.
