Second Stage Round 4: Saitama Bron. - Kagoshima 68-91

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Kagoshima's (4-4) road victory over 5th ranked Saitama Broncos (2-6) 91-68 on Sunday. Kagoshima dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Saitama Broncos' 34. It was a very good performance for American forward Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds. Bahamas center Gjio Bain (211-85, college: S.Mississippi) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. American center Wendell Lewis (208-89, college: Alabama St., agency: HMS) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Ferrakohn Hall (203-90, college: Memphis) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Saitama Broncos. Four Saitama Broncos players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kagoshima have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 4-4 record. Saitama Broncos lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with six games lost. Kagoshima will face higher ranked Tokyo Excel. (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Saitama Broncos will play against the league's second-placed Otsuka A. in Tokyo and hope to win that game.
