Regular Season Round 6: Hills H. - Newcastle H. 93-74

There was a small surprise in Baulkham Hills where fourth ranked Hills Hornets (5-1) smashed second-best Newcastle Hunters (5-2) 93-74 on Sunday. It was a key game for the second position in League. Hills Hornets dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Newcastle Hunters' 36 and made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Newcastle Hunters 45-34 including a 36-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hills Hornets looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hills Hornets made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was naturalized British forward Paul Brotherson (198-89, college: Metro St.) who scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Adrian Cabrera chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Hills Hornets players scored in double figures. Hills Hornets' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Jacob Foy who recorded 30 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Sharif Watson (198-93, college: Ariz.Christian) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Hills Hornets moved-up to second place in League. Loser Newcastle Hunters dropped to the third position with two games lost. Hills Hornets will face Maitland Mustangs (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
