An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ishikawa. Fourth ranked Orange Vikings faced one of their biggest challengers Kanazawa Sam.. Guests from Matsuyama (29-24) defeated host Kanazawa Sam. (24-28) 93-83. Orange Vikings made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was a good game for Vincentian power forward Nyika Williams (203-87, college: Pacific) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) contributed with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Kanazawa Sam.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Orange Vikings moved-up to third place, which they share with Hiroshima D. Kanazawa Sam. lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourth position with 28 games lost. Orange Vikings will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kanazawa Sam. will play on the road against Shinshu BW (#5) in Nagano and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
