Second Stage Round 4: Tokyo HT - Otsuka A. 97-67

Date: April 15, 2018
Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Tokyo: Tokyo HT (#1) and Otsuka A. (#2). Tokyo HT (7-1) smashed visiting Otsuka A. (5-3) by 30 points 97-67. Tokyo HT dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Otsuka A.'s 36. They outrebounded Otsuka A. 52-29 including a 23-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American forward Joel James (208-94, college: N.Carolina) who scored that evening 18 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Brennan McElroy (201-91, college: Indianapolis) supported him with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Tokyo HT players scored in double figures. Even 8 points and 8 assists by power forward Takeshi Hasegawa (196-84) did not help to save the game for Otsuka A.. American center Andrew Naymick (209-85, college: Michigan St.) added 7 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tokyo HT have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record. Loser Otsuka A. keeps the second place with three games lost. They share the position with Tokyo Excel.. Tokyo HT's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Tokyo Cinq R..
