No shocking result in a game in Avellino where fourth ranked Scandone AV (17-9) smashed bottom-ranked VL Pesaro (6-20) 103-81 on Sunday. They outrebounded VL Pesaro 35-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. Scandone AV looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Jason Rich (191-86) who scored 31 points. Nigerian-American power forward Olaseni Lawal (208-86, college: Wayne St., MI, agency: 3Eye) chipped in 4 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Lawal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Eric Mika (208-95, college: BYU) produced 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import point guard Rotnei Clarke (183-89, college: Butler) added 24 points and 8 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Scandone AV maintains fourth position with 17-9 record. Loser VL Pesaro dropped to the bottom place with 20 games lost. Scandone AV will face Betaland Cdo (#15) in Capo d'Orlando in the next round which should be another easy win for them. VL Pesaro will play at home against MIA-RO Cantu and hope to win that game.
