Everything went according to plan when first ranked Cento (25-4) defeated at home 10th ranked Reggio Emilia (11-18) 89-78 on Sunday. Cento dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Reggio Emilia's 14. They outrebounded Reggio Emilia 45-22 including a 14-0 advantage in offensive rebounds. Cento looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Power forward Michele Benfatto (205-85) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Matteo Fioravanti (194-97, agency: SPORTlab Agency) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Cento players scored in double figures. Cento's coach Giovanni Benedetto used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
