Not a big story in a game in Kariya where 6th ranked Shimane Magic (8-45) was defeated by first ranked Aishin Sea Horses (44-9) 99-85 on Sunday. Aishin Sea Horses made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Aishin Sea Horses outrebounded Shimane Magic 36-21 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. International guard Ryoma Hashimoto (178-88) stepped up and scored 27 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and the former international center JR Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Aishin Sea Horses' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Al Thornton (203-83, college: Florida St.) with 26 points and 4 assists and swingman Takuya Soma (181-91) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Aishin Sea Horses have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 44-9 record. Shimane Magic lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with 45 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will face league's leader Ryukyu GK in Okinawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shimane Magic will play at home against Niigata Albirex (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
