There was no surprise in Starogard Gdanski where 10th ranked Polpharma (16-16) was crushed by fourth ranked BM Slam Stal (21-9) 106-67 on Sunday. BM Slam Stal shot 62.7 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 77.3 percentage. BM Slam Stal looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American point guard Aaron Johnson (173-88, college: UAB, agency: Two Points) fired 20 points and 4 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) for the winners. The other American import guard Stephen Holt (193-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 15 points. Four BM Slam Stal players scored in double figures. Serbian power forward Milan Milovanovic (205-91, agency: 011 Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Jakub Schenk (183-94) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BM Slam Stal have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Loser Polpharma dropped to the eleventh position with 16 games lost. BM Slam Stal will face MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (#5) at home in the next round. Polpharma will play against GTK (#14) in Gliwice and hope to win that game.
