Regular Season Round 30: Leon - Obradoiro II 76-74

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Obradoiro II (8-20) was edged on the road by fourth ranked Leon (16-12) 76-74 on Sunday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 22-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Leon looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Obradoiro II's players. It was a good game for American center Nigel Holley (206-95, college: Francis Marion) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import forward Colby Taylor (198-94, college: Central, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Four Leon players scored in double figures. Rodrigo Gomez replied with 17 points and 8 rebounds and guard Daniel De-Villalobos (189-97) added 16 points in the effort for Obradoiro II. Obradoiro II's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Leon maintains fourth position in Group A-B with 16-12 record, which they share with Betanzos. Obradoiro II lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth place with 20 games lost. Leon will face Venta de Banos (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Obradoiro II will play against Estudiantes L. and hope to win that game.
