The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Alma Trieste (21-8) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked GSA Udine (17-12) 85-79. 28 personal fouls committed by Alma Trieste helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Kyndall Dykes (192-87, college: New Orleans) stepped up and scored 27 points for the winners and his fellow American import guard Troy Caupain (193-95, college: Cincinnati) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds. Dykes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Laurence Bowers (203-90, college: Missouri) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and guard Federico Mussini (188-96, college: St.John's) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. GSA Udine moved-up to fifth place in A2. Alma Trieste at the other side still keeps top position with eight games lost. GSA Udine are looking forward to face Imola (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Alma Trieste will play against Montegrano (#4) in Montenegrano and is hoping to win this game.
