Regular Season Round 6: Ringwood H. - Corio Bay S. 102-79

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Ringwood Hawks as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Ringwood Hawks smashed 12th ranked Stingrays in Heathmont 102-79. Ringwood Hawks made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Ringwood Hawks outrebounded Stingrays 43-32 including 35 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for American guard Jacob Gibson (198-93, college: Harding) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Shaun Clarke (204) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Christopher Eichler replied with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Steve Wiasak added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Stingrays. Four Stingrays players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Stingrays at the other side keep the twelfth place with four games lost. Stingrays will play next round against Blackburn V. trying to get back on the winning streak. Ringwood Hawks will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Knox Raiders at Wantirna South.
