Regular Season Round 29: Imola - Montegrano 73-65

There was an upset when 4th placed Montegrano (18-11) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Imola (15-14) 73-65 on Sunday. Point guard Lorenzo Penna (176-98) stepped up and scored 15 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners and forward Davide Alviti (202-96) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. American Marshawn Powell (201-90, college: Arkansas, agency: HMS) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import LaMarshall Corbett (189-88, college: Angelo St.) scored 15 points. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Imola maintains tenth place in A2 with 15-14 record. Newly promoted Montegrano keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. Imola will face higher ranked GSA Udine (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Montegrano will play against the league's leader Alma Trieste and will have a slim chance for a victory.
