Regular Season Round 6: Lakeside L. - Rockingham F. 110-111

Everything could happen in North Lake at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Flames and 5th ranked Lightning had identical 3-2 record. But Lightning was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Rockingham 111-110 on Sunday night. Flames outrebounded Lightning 48-28 including a 22-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Greg Hire (201-87, college: Augusta) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 23 rebounds and 7 assists. American power forward Josh Ritchart (205-92, college: Cal-Davis) chipped in 42 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard John Isenbarger (188-91, college: Elon) who recorded 27 points and 7 assists and guard Rowan Mackenzie (188-99) added 22 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Five Lightning players scored in double figures. Flames (4-2) moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Lightning dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Flames will face Slammers (#14) in Bunbury in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lightning will play on the road against the league's second-placed Buccaneers (#2) in Wonthella and hope to win that game.
