Seventh-ranked Porto S.Elpidio (15-14) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Bisceglie (20-9) on Sunday. The visitors from Bisceglie managed to secure only two-point victory 73-71. However their fans expected much easier game. Strangely Porto S.Elpidio outrebounded Bisceglie 43-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Power forward Riccardo Antonelli (208-88) nailed a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Simone Bonfiglio (181-88, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 18 points. Four Bisceglie players scored in double figures. Power forward Simone Zanotti (208-92) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and guard Stefano Cernivani (185-91) added 18 points and 4 steals respectively for Porto S.Elpidio in the defeat. Bisceglie moved-up to second place in B, which they share with Crema and Piacenza. Loser Porto S.Elpidio keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. They share it with Desio. Bisceglie will meet at home Cerignola Udas (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Porto S.Elpidio will play against Matera (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
