No shocking result in a game when fourteenth ranked Burgos (10-18) beat bottom-ranked Real Betis (7-21) in Sevilla 101-96 on Sunday. Real Betis was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Burgos made 25-of-27 free shots (92.6 percent) during the game. Real Betis was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Serbian center Goran Huskic (210-92, college: Howard Col., TX) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American forward Deon Thompson (203-88, college: N.Carolina) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Swiss-American guard Askia Booker (186-93, college: Colorado) replied with 30 points and 4 assists and American-Nigerian power forward OD Anosike (203-91, college: Siena, agency: Alti Sport) added 21 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Real Betis. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Burgos have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Burgos maintains fourteenth position with 10-18 record. Real Betis lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with 21 games lost. Burgos will face Joventut (#17) in Badalona in the next round. Real Betis will play at home against Gran Canaria and hope to win that game.
