Important game to mention about took place in Agrigento. Fifth ranked Viola RC (17-11) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked Agrigento (14-15) 88-86 on Sunday evening. Viola RC made 27-of-29 charity shots (93.1 percent) during the game, while Agrigento only scored eleven points from the stripe. Strangely Agrigento outrebounded Viola RC 32-19 including 23 on the defensive glass. Agrigento was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Patrick Baldassarre (200-86, agency: Players Group) nailed 21 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winning side and American guard Chris Roberts (193-88, college: Bradley) accounted for 14 points. Five Viola RC players scored in double figures. American guard Pendarvis Williams (198-91, college: Norfolk St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Simone Pepe (184-93, agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 20 points respectively for Agrigento in the defeat. Viola RC moved-up to fourth place in A2. Agrigento at the other side keeps the eighth position with 15 games lost. Viola RC will play against Remer Treviglio (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Agrigento will play against Eurobasket Roma and hopes to get back on the winning track.
