Regular Season Round 33: Osaka Evessa - Yokohama BC 82-90

There was a minor upset when 3rd placed Osaka Evessa (20-33) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Yokohama BC (16-37) 90-82 on Sunday. Yokohama BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Osaka Evessa was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Tanzanian center Hasheem Thabeet (218-87, college: Connecticut) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) chipped in 20 points and 11 rebounds. Yokohama BC's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American center Keith Benson (211-88, college: Oakland) with 16 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Yokohama BC and five Osaka Evessa players scored in double figures. Yokohama BC maintains sixth place with 16-37 record. Loser Osaka Evessa keeps the third position with 33 games lost. Yokohama BC will face league's second-placed Kyoto Hannar. on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Osaka Evessa will play against Hokkaido L. in Saporro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
