Regular Season Round 28: Lyon-Villeurbanne - Levallois 80-74
Date: April 17, 2018
Very expected game when 11th ranked Levallois (12-13) was defeated on the road by third ranked Lyon-Villeurbanne (18-8) 80-74. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Strangely Levallois outrebounded Lyon-Villeurbanne 46-32 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Levallois' players. Quite impressive performance for Senegalese center Khadim Sow (210-99) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). Guard Theo Maledon (193-0) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 assists for the winners. Four Lyon-Villeurbanne players scored in double figures. Point guard Sylvain Francisco (180-97, college: High School) replied with 30 points and 8 rebounds and forward Ivan Fevrier (204-99) added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Levallois. Levallois' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Lyon-Villeurbanne have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Levallois lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Lyon-Villeurbanne's next round opponent will be CCRB Pro (#12) in Reims and are hoping to win another game. Levallois will play at home against Dijon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
