Regular Season Round 7: Guasave - Hermosillo 86-102

Date: April 17, 2018
The most interesting game of round 7 in the CIBACOPA was a home defeat of their biggest opponent Frayles de Guasave (4-3) by first ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (5-2) who outscored them by 16 points 102-86. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Rayos de Hermosillo outrebounded Frayles de Guasave 47-29 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Guard Tyshawn Abbott (192-88, college: Arizona St.) helped adding 19 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Little is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) responded with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and center Anthony Parker (206-93) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Five Rayos de Hermosillo and four Frayles de Guasave players scored in double figures. Rayos de Hermosillo maintains first place with 5-2 record. Frayles de Guasave at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Guaymas. Rayos de Hermosillo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Frayles de Guasave will play again at home against the league's leader Rayos de Hermosillo (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
