Everything went according to plan when tenth ranked Asseco (17-14) defeated 15th ranked Miasto Szkla (9-23) in Krosno 82-73 on Wednesday. Swingman Przemyslaw Zolnierewicz (196-95) nailed 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and center Dariusz Wyka (209-91) accounted for 11 points and 8 rebounds. Four Asseco players scored in double figures. Asseco's coach Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Jayvaughn Pinkston (201-91, college: Villanova) came up with 25 points and the other American import power forward Peter Alexis (213-92, college: Thomas Jefferson) added 17 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Miasto Szkla in the defeat. Asseco maintains tenth place with 17-14 record. Miasto Szkla lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with 23 games lost. Asseco will meet higher ranked Rosa (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Miasto Szkla will play against Start (#12) in Lublin and hope to secure a win.
