Regular Season Round 33: Cactus Tbilisi - Rustavi 90-88

The most exciting game of round 33 in the Superleague took place in Tbilisi. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Energy Invest (18-11) to third ranked Cactus Tbilisi (19-10) 90-88 on Wednesday evening. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 30-22 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Cactus Tbilisi made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Cactus Tbilisi especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. American guard Deondre Parks (185-92, college: S.Dakota St.) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners and Giorgi Turdzeladze chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Levan Tsekvava (190-89) with 23 points and 4 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and American point guard Adam Blazek (185-92, college: Gannon) produced a triple-double by scoring 12 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals. Four Cactus Tbilisi and five Energy Invest players scored in double figures. Cactus Tbilisi have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Dinamo Tbilisi. Energy Invest at the other side keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. Cactus Tbilisi will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Energy Invest will play at home against Sokhumi (#9) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
