Fifth-ranked Rotterdam (15-16) used its home court advantage to challenge fourth ranked Leiden (23-8) on Thursday. The visitors from Leiden managed to secure only two-point victory 94-92. However their fans expected easier game. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 43-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Leiden looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. International Worthy de-Jong (194-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 32 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. American guard Carrington Love (186-94, college: Green Bay) contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American swingman Trevor Setty (203-89, college: Pikeville) answered with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import guard Marcel Boyd (208, college: Howard) added 13 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Rotterdam. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Leiden have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Zwolle. Rotterdam at the other side keeps the fifth position with 16 games lost. Leiden is looking forward to face Amsterdam (#6) at home in the next round. Rotterdam will play against the league's leader Groningen and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
