Second Stage Round 12: Racing - Arantia 100-73

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Arantia (24-6) in Luxembourg on Thursday night. Visitors were rolled over by Racing (18-12) 100-73. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Racing looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Arantia's players. It was a good game for American swingman Scott Morton (195-87, college: Geneseo St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. Point guard Max Hilger (187-95) contributed with 25 points and 9 assists for the winners. Five Racing players scored in double figures. American swingman Ladarius Tabb (196, college: Alabama A&M) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 18 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Xavier Pollard (193-91, college: Kent St.) added 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Arantia. Arantia's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Racing have an impressive 14-game winning streak. Newly promoted Racing maintains first position with 18-12 record which they share with defeated Arantia. Arantia at the other side still keeps top place with six games lost. Racing are looking forward to face T.Hesperange (#4) at home in the next round. Arantia will play against Contern in Luxembourg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
