Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Tokyo: Tokyo HT (#1) and Tokyo Cinq R. (#6). Tokyo Cinq R. was crushed at home by 18 points 75-93 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Tokyo HT dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Cinq R.'s 30. They outrebounded Tokyo Cinq R. 43-29 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tokyo HT players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and power forward Edward Morris (204-84, college: Pittsburg St.) accounted for 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Tokyo HT players scored in double figures. Forward Drew Martin (203-94, college: Concordia, OR, agency: Court Side) came up with 30 points and 5 rebounds and guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) added 20 points respectively for Tokyo Cinq R. in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Tokyo HT. They maintain first place with 9-1 record. Tokyo Cinq R. lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Tokyo HT will play against Kagoshima (#4) in Renova in the next round. Tokyo Cinq R. will play on the road against Saitama Broncos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
